Homeschool Unschool Australia! Summer 2012
Summer blasted its way into our lives and then hesitated and since then the weather has yo-yoed! On the more extreme days I'm enjoying relaxing with a book or magazine, experiencing the uninterrupted life of a retired home educating mum!
October was a busy crazy wonderful month for our family and a visit from the little people reminded me of the very important role play has in our lives - and not just for the children. The benefits of play and playfulness are enormous. The summer issue focuses on the topic of play.
Next year I'm introducing new columns into the magazine dear to my heart and to help me stay focused on achieving my life goals. I am convinced that living a busy, constructive and productive life as well as building on personal interests and interacting with our communities in healthy ways naturally covers ALL areas of the school curriculum. My hope is that you will find these practical columns of great support and inspiration.
Writing for and encouraging home educating families sustains me. It's a two way process : as a reader you offer me so much, for which I am very grateful and why I am committed to producing an affordable magazine.
Anyway, make a cuppa, find a pleasant spot in the garden or on a comfy chair and read a few articles, then come back and have another read in a few days. Dip into the magazine whenever you get time and make the issue last this long wonderful Aussie summer.
$18 is all it costs to get regular reassurance, encouragement, advice, tips, links to resources for all things home educating in your letter box; $12 for the e-version. Where else can you get four issues of a magazine for that price?
Let my enthusiasm for home education revitalise you!
My adult children think it was the bees knees to have the freedom to learn in ways that suited their needs, personalities and preferences when they were kids. I am passionate about helping you feel okay, strong and committed to your choice to home educate your children because I want you to experience the same joy I feel now.

Together with the support of my family, my aim is to help parents educate their children in stress-free, nurturing environments. In addition to building and maintaing this website, I continue to create and manage local and national home educating networks, help to organise conferences and camps, as well as write for, edit and produce newsletters, resource directories and magazines. Welcome to the
World of Home Education and
Learning without School!
We began educating our children in 1985, when our eldest was five. In truth, we had helped them learn what they need to learn since they were born. I am a passionate advocate of allowing children to learn unhindered by unnecessary stress and competition, meeting developmental needs in ways that suit their individual learning styles and preferences. Ours was a homeschooling, unschooling and natural learning family! There are hundreds of articles on this site to help you build confidence as a home educating family. We hope that your home educating adventure is as satisfying as ours was! Beverley Paine
