Homeschool Graduates: Beyond Homeschooling, What Next?

© Beverley Paine

There are growing number of families like ours with homeschooled youngsters crossing the threshold of the teenage years into full adult life. Hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people have asked me over the years how homeschooled students 'turn out'. Well, from the evidence splattered all over the internet, my predictions and reassurances that homeschool students make the transition into adult life in much the same way as anyone else is vindicated.

We've yet to see much evidence or the kind of support and networking available in the United States of America emerge in Australia but I have no doubt that it will very soon.

Please help build this page as a resource for Australian homeschooling families by emailing information about Australian homeschool graduates, articles, links, etc.

Homeschool Alumni is a vibrant and encouraging site well worth visiting if, like many others new to the concept of teaching your children at home, you worry about the end result. Homeschool Alumni provides ministry and community service opportunities to the thousands strong network of homeschool graduates.

Home Educated and Now Adults is a study conducted by Brian Ray that is bound to reassure both parents, homeschool students and just about anyone else! For nearly 20 years, critics and the curious have been asking about the homeschooled: But how will they do in the "real world" of adulthood? As a corollary, they have also asked: What about socialization? This unique study takes a look at the lives of over 7,000 adults from across the United States who were home educated during their elementary and secondary school years.

Homeschool Graduates is a network blogging site that has over 200 homeschool graduates contributors.
